Vote 1 – Coburg North sausage sizzle and cake stall

Voters were the real winners at Coburg North this Saturday, with those coming to cast their vote at the state election greeted with a stall heaving with donated cakes, slices and biscuits, sausages sizzling on the barbecue and icy cold drinks.

Run by a small but dedicated crew of Parents and Friends members, and comprising donated goods from across the school community, the stall and barbecue got off to a slow start but ended up raising more than $1000* for new play equipment for the school.

Big thanks to all those who cooked up a storm for the stall, and to Grade 1 students Ada and Imogen, as well as Prep-to-be Camille, for creating the signage. Also thanks to Kirsty, Hamish, Meredith, Riley, Kate, Patricia, Dave and Maggie for all their hard work on the day.

A particular shout out to our school councillors Owen and Paul who slaved over a hot grill for six hours on what turned out to be a rather warm day.

*Exact final tally not yet known.
